How does YouStock calculate the price of my storage?
When estimating your storage cost, YouStock provides two key figures in a single quote: the Collection Fee and the Monthly Storage Rate. The Collection Fee takes into account the volume of items we pick up, the ease of access at your property (including factors such as stairs, lifts, or parking restrictions), any additional services like packing or furniture dismantling, and your chosen insurance options. The Monthly Storage Rate depends on the size of your storage unit (measured in square feet) and any insurance add-ons you select. Because our rates decrease as you store more, you’ll save money when you place a larger volume in storage.
I’ve decided what size I need but how much will it cost?
Once you know the approximate square footage you require, you can either use our online tool or contact one of our advisors to receive a detailed, personalised quote. We’ll calculate the monthly fee based on your chosen unit size and add a one-time Collection Fee that reflects how many items you’re storing and how accessible your home is. This straightforward approach ensures you only pay for the space and services you actually need.
What is included in the price for self storage?
Your monthly rate covers more than just the physical space for your belongings. You will have access to a dedicated advisor who offers expert guidance throughout your storage journey, and our team will collect your items right from your home so you never have to leave your doorstep. You also benefit from a photo inventory that securely documents everything you have in storage, plus professional furniture dismantling when required to optimise space. Fragile items receive special protection during handling, and home delivery is included so you can have your belongings returned to you whenever needed. Unlike many traditional storage providers that charge extra for these benefits, YouStock includes them all to provide a truly hassle-free experience.
How much is the Premium Protection Plan?
The Premium Protection Plan varies in cost depending on the total declared value of your items, offering coverage beyond the standard £50 per item limit. It protects your belongings at their purchase or repair value in case of damage or loss and requires a Statement of Value to be submitted at least 48 hours before your scheduled service. Each plan is tailored to match the specifics of your inventory, so if you would like to add Premium Protection, simply let us know when booking or give us a call for an exact quote.
Is there a charge for cancelling or rescheduling the collection date?
Yes, this depends on how soon you notify us of any changes. If you cancel 15 or more days before your scheduled date, we offer a full refund of all amounts paid. For cancellations made between 15 and 3 days prior, you will receive a 50% refund, whereas no refund is available if you cancel 3 days or less before your service. Rescheduling follows a similar structure. For paid services, requests must be made at least three days in advance to avoid additional charges. We always recommend reaching out to us as early as possible to minimise fees or disruptions to your service schedule.
