Is collection really free?

Collection is free when you book on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, across all London Zones 1 to 6. If you need a Monday, Friday, or Saturday slot, a small transport fee applies. Note that delivery (when you want your things back) is a separate chargeable service — optional extras such as packing assistance are also charged separately.

Which areas in London are covered?

The free transport offer is available across all of London Zones 1 to 6 — covering central London all the way out to the outer suburbs. If you’re unsure whether your postcode is included, just get in touch and we’ll confirm it instantly.

What days can I get free collection ?

Free collection and delivery is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We’re also available Monday, Friday and Saturday if your schedule doesn’t allow a midweek slot — a transport charge applies on those days. We don’t operate on Sundays.

What size storage do I need?

The student offer covers units from 5 to 20 sq ft. As a guide: 5 sq ft fits a few boxes and bags, 10 sq ft covers a full student room’s contents, and 20 sq ft fits an entire room including small furniture. Use our online calculator if you want a more precise estimate.

Can you help with packing?

Yes! Professional packing assistance is available as a paid add-on. Our team will bring all the materials and pack your items safely and efficiently. Just add it when booking or let us know in advance. Packing boxes and materials are also available for hire.

How does billing work?

Storage is billed monthly. Please note that any month started is charged in full, so we recommend timing your retrieval towards the end of a billing period to get the most out of your plan. There are no hidden fees — everything is clearly displayed before you confirm your booking.

How do I get my stuff back?

Simply log into your account, browse your photo inventory, and request a delivery. We’ll bring everything back to your address — a delivery fee applies, see our pricing page for details. We can deliver to a different address if you’ve moved.

Is my stuff insured?

Yes. Your belongings are covered by YouStock’s insurance from the moment we collect them to the moment we return them. Our warehouses are double-locked with 24/7 CCTV surveillance. Full insurance details are available on our Liability page.

Why YouStock and not a self-storage unit?

With traditional self-storage, you hire a unit, rent a van, lug everything there yourself — and repeat every time you need something back. It costs time and money you probably don’t have. Can I store just for a few weeks, or does it have to be long-term?

No minimum commitment — store for as long as you need, whether that’s a few weeks over Easter or the whole summer. If you’re planning to store long-term, you’ll actually save more: we offer discounts of up to 40% for longer stays. The unit size is entirely up to you too — pick exactly what you need so you’re never paying for space you’re not using.

I'm goind on a year abroad. Can I leave all my belongings with you?

Absolutely. This is actually one of the most common reasons students use YouStock. We’ll collect everything from your room before you leave, keep it safe in our secure warehouse while you’re away, and deliver it all back when you return — even to a new address if you’ve moved. Your belongings are double-locked, CCTV-monitored, and fully insured throughout. One less thing to stress about before your flight.
